How to File for Unemployment in Indianapolis, Indiana
If you are unemployed in Indianapolis, Indiana, the state of Indiana offers unemployment insurance benefits to if you are eligible. Indiana allows you to file for unemployment benefits either online or in person at your local Indianapolis WorkOne Center.
First, you must gather the following information: name, address, social security number, personal identification such as driver’s license, last employer’s name, last employer’s address, dates of work for your last employer, and reason for termination from last employer.
You can file for unemployment online using the Indiana Department of Workforce Development Uplink Claimant Self Service (CSS) portal. Click on “New User” to create a new account for the Indiana CSS system. Once you have an account, you can click on “Logon” to login to the system.
Fill out the online CSS form with the information you gathered in Step 1 to file a claim online.
If you cannot file your claim online, you can visit your local Indiana WorkOne Center to file an unemployment claim in person.
Once you have filed a claim, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development will process your claim. If your claim is approved, there is a one week waiting period where you will not receive payment. After the waiting period, you will receive a voucher to return and complete each week you are unemployed. You can continue to file your weekly claims online at the CSS Uplink portal or in person at your local Indianapolis WorkOne Center.
