How to Identify Signs or Symptoms of Heart Attack
Follow the steps below to identify whether you have one or more of the symptoms below to evaluate whether you are in the beginning stages of or are having a heart attack. Importantly, you may not have all of the listed symptoms.
Determine whether you are experiencing uncomfortable pressure, a feeling of fullness, or squeezing in the center of your chest for more than a few minutes.
Determine whether you have pain spreading to your shoulders, neck and/or arms.
The pain you experience may be intense or even mild. It may feel like tightness, burning, or weight on your chest, abdomen, jaw, or in your arms and shoulders.
Determine whether you are feeling discomfort by feeling lightheaded, faint, sweating, nausea or shortness of breath.
Determine whether you have cold, sweaty skin or a paleness in your skin.
Determine whether you have an increased or irregular heart rate, or even a feeling of impending doom.
If you have one or more of the above symptoms, you should contact your medical professional immediately.
