How to Identify Signs or Symptoms of Pulmonary Embolism
Pulmonary embolism is a medical condition where a blood clot has traveled into the lungs. It can be a life-threatening condition if it remains untreated and can result in sudden death. Below are some steps you can take to identify whether you have a pulmonary embolism
Determine whether you have unexplained shortness of breath.
Determine whether you have pain in the chest or side while you are breathing, coughing or taking a deep breath.
Determine whether you are coughing up blood.
Determine if you are inexplicably sweating
If you determine that you have any of the above symptoms, you should contact your medical professional to rule out pulmonary embolism. Importantly, you may have all – or not even any – of the typical signs.
