How to Make the Best Paper Airplane

Making paper airplanes is an activity that kids of all ages (and grownups) enjoy. There is something special and timeless about making paper airplanes. Follow the steps below to make the best paper airplane. It will be a long-distance glider that will stay in the air a long time.

Start by folding the paper in half lengthways.

Fold the top two corners to the center line.

Take the triangle tip at the top that you just made and fold it straight down. Don’t fold it all the way to the bottom.  Leave between an inch to 3 inches, so that the piece of paper now literally looks like an envelope.

Next, fold in both corners at the top of your “envelope” looking paper to the center line.

You should see a small upside-down triangle sticking out underneath your latest corner folds. Take this upside-down triangle and fold it upwards to make it a right-side up triangle that secures your corner folds.

Fold the paper in half lengthways again, keeping your small triangle on the outside of the fold. (the small triangle will keep your prior corner folds in place).

Take the plane and make wings by folding each side in half at about a 30 degree angle or so. Be sure that the front of the plane comes to a precise pointy tip from your folds.
