How to Prepare a Speech or Presentation

We all face a time where we need to put on a presentation or speech in public or in front of a group. The article below describes how to prepare for the presentation or speech in an effective manner.

Think about what you want to present or say and put together a bullet-point outline. Avoid writing out everything you are going to say. Simply put down key words that will trigger the topics and areas you wish to discuss.
Practice your speech or presentation several times over and over. Avoid reading from the outline. Use the outline only as a cue to trigger what the next topic or point is.

Speak contemporaneously. In other words, each time you practice your speech or presentation, it will sound a little differently. It will not always be the same as you will be using conversational language and speaking naturally to your audience.

If you use these tips and practice, you will be much more confident, and your listeners will thank you as well because you will be more interesting and natural as you speak.
